The 1st ODI on the 6th of February will be a special and historic match as India will be playing its 1000th ODI. The Indian team will be the first cricket team in the world to achieve this feat,” it added further.
As per the schedule, these three ODI games were slated to be held in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Kolkata, followed by three T20’s in Cuttack, Vishakapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. Due to Covid cases surging, the BCCI has decided to have a single venue for each format. Rohit Sharma is fit and set to lead the team in both formats after missing the South Africa tour. The BCCI has appointed Rohit Sharma as full-time captain for India in limited-overs after the T20 World Cup. With KL Rahul missing the 1st ODI, Rishabh Pant is likely to be appointed as Rohit Sharma’s deputy. It is evident that all eyes are on Virat Kohli, who will be playing his first game under Rohit captaincy. Virat’s 71st century is long pending, and fans are excited to see Virat achieving this feat.
