The 2021-22 NBA season was officially concluded by the Warriors’ Game 6 victory against the Celtics in the NBA Finals.
With this victory, the Warriors won their fourth title in the last eight seasons. What are the chances of their repeating their success, or someone else dethroning them? If you have a strong opinion about who will win the NBA championship in 2022-23, you may want to take a look at the odds below.
A quick recap
As of last season’s opening, the Warriors had the third-best odds 10 (+900) of any eventual NBA Champion over the prior five years to win the 2021-22 NBA Finals. Recent odds on the 18-19 Raptors were as low as 19.5 (+1850). Even as the regular season and postseason progressed, the Warriors’ odds changed yet more.
The Warriors’ postseason odds were 11 (+1000) at the beginning of the run. However, the No. 3 seed Warriors, led by Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson, shocked the basketball world by returning to the winners’ circle.
At +335, the Boston Celtics are next season’s heavy favorites to win the NBA championship (4.35). It also wouldn’t be surprising if the Warriors won the NBA championship once again, given they still have their core intact and have several promising young players who might make a big impact next season. Several of my personal favorites are discussed here.
Boston Celtics | 4.35 |
Milwaukee Bucks | 5.65 |
Golden State Warriors | 7.00 |
LA Clippers | 10.00 |
Phoenix Suns | 10.00 |
NBA Championship Favorites
In terms of odds to win the NBA title, the Warriors, Bucks, and Celtics are now the frontrunners at most online bookmakers. The Heat are no longer the NBA betting odds-on favorite in the East, with Boston being listed at +140 on other sportsbooks.
Celtics: 4.35
The 2022 NBA Finals appearance by Boston is viewed as a staging post by oddsmakers. The Celtics have the makings of an Eastern Conference powerhouse for the conceivable future thanks to the emergence of Jayson Tatum as a top-five player in the NBA.
Warriors: 7.00
The Warriors have emerged as 7.00 favorites to win their fifth NBA title in the Curry-Thompson-Green era. This comes after they defeated the Boston Celtics in last year’s NBA Finals.
Nets: 12
Despite the fact that last season was a huge letdown for Brooklyn, the team’s poor showing was mostly down to unfortunate injuries. Even without Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard, the Nets are still a title contender thanks to the presence of superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Betting on the NBA Championship
If you’re new to NBA betting, don’t worry; the NBA Finals offer the same betting options as any other basketball game. Each NBA Finals game also has sizable props and a special bets market. You can find the odds for the NBA Finals and how to bet on them below.
Moneyline
The moneyline is the most popular type of NBA bet, and it’s also the simplest. Moneyline wagers are placed on the outright victor of a sporting event.
In terms of understanding moneyline odds, there is little to no learning curve. The team with the plus sign is the underdog, and the club with the minus sign is the favorite. The odds next to each team show how likely it is that they will win the game according to the sportsbook.
Point Spread
Spread bets need the chosen team to triumph by a predetermined margin. When betting on the underdog, you must ensure that they do not lose by more than the oddsmaker has predicted. In live NBA betting Singapore, you may also wager on point spreads and track how they alter before games start based on factors like injury reports.
Total Points
Points total betting, commonly known as Over/Under betting, is simple to understand. You are betting on the combined score of two teams. Sum up the scores for each team to reach the final score.
Prop Betting
Increased interest in fantasy sports has led to a similar surge in player prop betting among NBA fans. Betting on individual players or on in-game occurrences falls under this category.
Most of the best players in any NBA Finals game have multiple betting options, including point totals, rebound totals, assist totals, three-point percentages, and defensive ratings. For more NBA betting Singapore tips and NBA betting sites, head straight to Top Betting Site SG!
